PAPod 174 - The Blue Line / Black Line - Time Line…

19May

This episode of the Pod kind of freaked me out.  You ever see something that makes a ton of sense and yet you have never thought of before?

That is what happened to me.

I met Jeremy Cesena the other day at PG&E - he is a friend of the pod and a big thinker...and a great guy.   He decided that he could use the blue line and black line cartoon as a way to code events - like a timeline for understanding and learning from an event.

It is way cool.

1.  People Make Mistakes

2.  Blame Fixes Nothing

3.  Context Drives Behavior

4.  Learning is the Key

5.  How Managers React - Matters

It will do us all good to cozy up to the first principles of this thinking.  Enjoy!

PAPod 173 - Meet the Safety Heretic - Jeff Lyth, Eh…

12May

You are about to meet somebody I have been following for a good long while.  I find Jeff very interesting.  He is smart.  He is funny.  He is irreverant.  He is funny and clever.

He is also very much not afraid to speak truth to power.

That is what makes this episode so interesting and fun.
