What could possibly be wrong with asking worker to stop when unsure?  It seems - I said seems - like such a good and right thing to say to workers...
but is it?
I wonder if we should change this advice to start when sure?  Isn't it easier to know when you are ready to do work and opposed to being psychic enough to know when some surprise event will lead to failure.

This weeks episode of the podcast is not just about safety and not just about workplace violence - it is about the meeting point between safety and workplace violence.  This problem is a social problem and a workplace problem - and we have to talk beyond the actual event and discusses the deeper systems weaknesses that are present.
Please listen carefully to this episode.  I found this very informative and instructive.

There are three type of resilience you manage in your organization:  Prevention, Work Execution, and Response.  All three of these are super important and super powerful.  The problem is you have to balance all three at the same time.  This three part Safety Moment podcast discusses these three forms of resilience.

I love the name of this episode.  Pre-Job boxers or briefs.  This could be my best work yet!
You will also love the way that Marc Yeston thinks about this work and safety activity.  Marc is a leading thinker in how workers think about work, both before execution and after execution.   You will learn much.
Thanks for listening.  You are the best.  Thanks to ORCHSE.com.   Listen and keep listening.

This episode is super interesting.  Our field reporter, Bob Edwards, interview a crew of a large petroleum tanker about how safety happens at sea and at port.  You will love the way these guys talk about managing safe and reliable operations ALL the time.  These workers are experienced professionals both at the work they do and at the way they perform safety.  To top all of this off, this crew manages three types of safety:  Industrial Safety, Maritime Safety, and Process Safety.
Thanks for listening to this podcast episode.  It is a great episode.  You will listen again and again.  Thanks for listening and thanks to ORCHSE.com.

You know it.  I know it. The world needs to know it.  How leaders react to failure within their organizations matters greatly.  In fact, how leaders react may be everything.  Curious leaders want to learn and improve.  Leaders who believe they know tend to blame and punish.  It is as easy as being interested that changes the way leaders react.

The best part of the podcast is the chance to talk with organizations that are actually out in the world doing this work.  Using New Safety to make a difference for real workers doing real work.  Marcie and Terry talk to use about the Journey of Mississippi Lime - a bright, shinning star of safety in a world of hazard and risk.
Thanks for listening to the podcast.  You make the show go.  Thanks also to ORCHSE.com and to Mississippi Lime.  See you next podcast.
