You can have the best ideas in the world, but if you don't have a way to execute on those ideas they really don't matter much.
Much of our improvement failures happen because we have not taken the time to talk about and create a system to use to improve.  Seriously, improvement doesn't happen by magic or accident.  Build a way for improvement to happen - and it will happen.

This week has been horrific.  Watching and texting back and forth with all my friends in the pathway of Herrican Harvey.  i can't express how much my thoughts and actions were influenced by the pain, loss, and suffering that memebers of our community were experiencing.
This is a quick response to how disaster makes us feel and the importance of restoration and recovery - leading to resillience is vital as the path forward.

This is one of the most interesting conversations I have had in a while.  Let me give you some background on what happened...
A couple of episodes ago, we had a conversation about contractor safety.  Contractor safety is a big challange for us at almost every level.  Contractor safety is hard to do.
This guy writes me an email to tell me how he had a "beef" with that very conversation.   He's a contractor and he knows how this all works.

This is the most interesting part of what I do.  I am constantly amazed by the fact that we have to remind managers that the workers are not the problem....the workers are the problem slovers...the workers complete your organiztion - the workers are the master's of the blue line...
